- The Medau Society believes that all teachers, employees, volunteers, Society members and participants have a responsibility and a role to play in the promotion of equality of opportunity for all.
- The Medau Society aims to ensure that people from all sections of the community have equal opportunities to participate in classes, training and performance groups at all levels, and to become Society members.
- The Society will take all appropriate action to remove any barriers or obstacles to such opportunities, including a review of all publicity and other materials.
- The Society is committed to the provision of high quality services and activities in a way which is fair to all.
- All teachers will be encouraged to treat their members equally, regardless of their age, ability, gender, sexual orientation, domestic circumstances, ethnic background, religious beliefs, political persuasion and social or cross-cultural differences.
- All class members will be encouraged to accept each other as equal, and teachers will take steps to prevent any discrimination, whether direct or indirect, or harassment which might arise.
- In terms of employment, service delivery or activities, the Society will not disadvantage anyone by requirements or conditions which cannot be justified.
- The Society will encourage its employees, teachers, volunteers, members and participants to promote equality of opportunity in everyday life.
- The Society will continue to support schemes for under-represented sections of the community.
